Rounded Image Corners
Apply a measured corner radius to JPEG or PNG images and export a transparent PNG without uploads.
This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your data is never uploaded, never stored, and never leaves your device.
Image Rounded Corners masks all four corners with an exact whole-pixel radius and exports a transparent PNG at the original decoded image dimensions.
How to use it
- 1Open one supported still PNG or JPEG.
- 2Choose a valid pixel radius or shortcut, then check the transparency preview.
- 3Create PNG and download the rounded image without a painted background.
Example
- Input
- 120 × 80 image; radius 20px
- Output
- 120 × 80 PNG with transparent rounded corners
Allowed radius is 0–40px; curved edge pixels can have partial alpha.
What happens to your data
The browser clips and exports the image on your device. Source images and filenames are not uploaded by this workflow. Temporary download URLs are released when settings change, the image is cleared or the page is left.

Create a PNG with rounded, transparent corners using an exact radius in pixels. The output keeps the source’s width and height: only the area outside the four rounded corners is removed. This is useful for screenshots, product cards and rectangular artwork that must sit cleanly over different backgrounds.
The checkerboard behind the preview is a transparency guide, not a pattern added to your image. The tool does not paint white triangles into the corners. Download the PNG and place it on a colored background to see the transparent result.
How it works
Open one supported still PNG or ordinary 8-bit JPEG no larger than 10 MiB, 12 million pixels or 8,192 pixels per side. PNG through 8-bit is supported; APNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, SVG, 16-bit PNG and compound JPEG are not. The browser applies supported orientation information before reporting the original dimensions.
Enter a whole-pixel Corner radius from zero through half the shorter side, rounded down. The same radius applies to all four corners. A 120 × 80 image supports 0–40px: radius 0 leaves a rectangle, radius 20 creates 20px corner arcs, and radius 40 creates fully rounded short ends. The 10% and 25% shortcuts use the shorter side, not an arbitrary display size. A one-pixel-wide image can only use radius 0. Values outside the available range are rejected rather than silently changed.
A clipping path removes pixels outside the rounded shape; it does not shrink the image to fit a mask. The center and straight sections keep their decoded content and existing transparency. Curved edges are anti-aliased, so boundary pixels can have partial alpha. A square image at its maximum radius approximates a circle, but an odd side length uses the stated whole-pixel radius. For a true circle from a non-square image, crop to a square first. The tool does not provide separate radii per corner or feathered edges.
Preview changes are shown immediately, with no upload or background-color choice required. Create PNG exports the full-size result; changing the radius or source invalidates the previous download. Export uses PNG because JPEG cannot preserve transparent corners. Original metadata and profiles are not copied, and browser color handling can change appearance. Some viewers show transparency over white or black; that display background is not part of the PNG. Use Image Border to add outer space, Image Rotate to correct orientation, or Crop Image to change the underlying rectangle before rounding.
Worked example: Make rounded artwork without changing its size
- Input
- 120 × 80 image; 20px corner radius
- Result
- 120 × 80 PNG with transparent rounded corners
Radius can be 0–40px for this image. Edge pixels may have partial alpha for a smooth curve.
Common use cases
- Preparing a screenshot with curved corners for a presentation
- Placing product artwork over a colored page without white corner patches
- Giving a rectangular profile image consistent rounded corners
- Creating a reusable transparent PNG asset without opening a full design editor
Frequently asked questions
Are the corners actually transparent?+
Yes. Pixels outside the rounded clipping path have zero alpha, while edge pixels may be partially transparent for antialiasing. The checkerboard is only displayed behind the preview and is not saved.
Does rounding change the image dimensions?+
No. A 120 × 80 source still exports as 120 × 80. The tool masks the corner regions inside that rectangle, so content in the corners can be removed; check the preview before downloading.
What corner radius can I use?+
Use a nonnegative whole-pixel radius no greater than half the shorter image side, rounded down. For 120 × 80, the maximum is 40px. Invalid values show a message and cannot be exported.
Why do the corners look white in another app?+
Many image viewers display transparent pixels over white. Place the PNG over a colored background or open it in an editor with a transparency grid. Converting it to JPEG will flatten transparency into a solid background.
Can I round each corner separately or export JPEG?+
This tool uses one radius for all four corners and exports PNG only. Separate per-corner radii, feathering and background flattening are not part of this workflow.
